Administrative Services

The Administrative Services Department facilitates the policies, directives, and legislative actions set forth by Town Council in accordance with federal, state and local laws.

Building Department

The Building Department’s goal is to enhance safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment. These potential hazards could arise from the alteration, repair, removal, demolition, use and occupancy of buildings, structures or premises.

Business Licenses

The goal of the Business License Department is to administer the Business License and Hospitality/Accommodations Tax ordinances for the Town of Summerville while providing exceptional customer service.

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement services are provided for areas within the Summerville town limits only.

Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for engineering services for the Town of Summerville. The staff includes Professional Engineers, engineering technicians and administrative support.

Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Town's financial records and for being compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and the practices of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

Municipal Court

This court is part of the integrated judicial system for South Carolina and serves as the judicial system for the Town of Summerville. This court handles traffic and criminal misdemeanor violations and town ordinance and environmental code violations.
