The Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission has formed a Multi-Jurisdictional Alcohol Enforcement Team that covers Dorchester School District II. The A.E.T. received grant funding in July 2007. The Summerville Police Department and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office have been working together to enforce South Carolina's underage drinking laws. Enforcement efforts employed by  the team include compliance checks of locations that sell alcoholic beverages; party patrols; sobriety checkpoints; community policing and other strategies to reduce youth access to alcohol and underage drinking. Crucial to the team's efforts are community involvement from concerned parents and youth alike. If you have any information concerning the availability of alcohol and underage use please follow the link below.
